GATE 2025 Exam From February 1, Check Cut-Off, Qualifying Marks For IIT, NIT Admissions

GATE 2025: IIT Roorkee will conduct the exa, on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 for 30 subjects. Cut-off scores may rise.

IIT GATE 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and February 16, 2025. The GATE 2025 cut-off scores are expected to increase. Candidates preparing for the exam can refer to the previous year’s cutoff scores to get an idea of the expected trends.

GATE 2025 Expected Cut-Off

For GATE 2024, a total of 826,239 candidates registered, with 653,292 appearing for the exam. The cutoff scores were 33.3 for Aerospace Engineering, 27.6 for Computer Science and Information Technology, 25.2 for Chemistry, 25.7 for Electrical Engineering, and 25 for Mathematics.

GATE 2025 will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode, with a duration of 3 hours. As per the official notification, candidates can choose from 30 subjects and are allowed to apply for a maximum of two test papers. The two chosen papers must be selected from the combinations available on the official website.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level exam that assesses candidates for admission to master’s and doctoral programs in fields like engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities, as well as for employment in certain public sector organizations. The exam will be conducted by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

AICTE Launches 5200 YASHASVI Scholarships For Core Engineering Courses at yashasvi@aicte-india.org

This scholarship scheme is available for degree and diploma students in core engineering branches only.

The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the 'Young Achievers Scholarship and Holistic Academic Skills Venture Initiative (YASHASVI) scheme 2025'. This aim of this scheme is to encourage students to pursue technical courses in core branches of engineering and technology.
This scholarship scheme is available for degree and diploma students in core engineering branches only. Under this scheme, a total of 5200 scholarships are available, of which 2593 are for degree students, and the remaining 2607 are for diploma students.
The last date to apply for these scholarships is February 15. Interested candidates can apply at the official website -- yashasvi@aicte-india.org. After selection, the awardee will be paid scholarship through DBT mode on annual basis.

Eligibility

1) The candidate should be admitted to First year of Degree/ Diploma level course in any of the
AICTE approved institutions of respective year.
OR
Second year of Degree/Diploma Level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE Approved Institute of respective year.
2) Family Income from all sources should not be more than Rs. 8 Lakh per annum during the current
financial year. A valid income certificate issued by State/UT Government need to enclose.

Amount of scholarship

Amount of scholarship for degree level students is Rs 50,000 per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum for four years for first year admitted students and three years for Lateral Entry students.
For diploma level students, the scholarship amount is Rs 30,000 per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum three years for first year admitted students and two years for Lateral Entry students.

How to apply

1) The candidate fulfilling the eligibility conditions is required to apply online on AICTE Scholarship Portal. Details available on AICTE website.
2) The host institution where the candidate is studying, required to verify the online application.
3) AICTE will verify these applications as second level of scrutiny.
Applicants should note that the gap period between the year of passing the qualifying examination and the session of admission in degree/ diploma course should not be more than two years. Also, if a student is in reserved category and also qualified in General Category merit list of scholarship, then he/she will be counted under the General Category.
Since the scholarship is meant for core engineering branches, if a candidate shifts to any other branch from aforesaid programmes in any subsequent year, he/shewill not be eligible for scholarship and will have to refund entire amount of scholarship to AICTE by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Member Secretary, AICTE” payable at New Delhi.

 Roorkee has earlier released the GATE exam 2025 schedule on the official website where examinations are scheduled from 1st February 2025 onwards. Eligible individuals who want to Get admission in Masters courses in technology, Engineering, Technology etc.. are going to be appear in the GATE Exam 2025 which will be conducted through CBT mode for which GATE 2025 Admit Card has been released on Jan 07th, 2025.

GATE 2025 Admit Card

The exam schedule of the GATE Examination 2025 has already released by the IIT Roorkee which are going to conduct in February 2025. GATE 2025 Examinations are scheduled only Saturday and Sunday on 4 dates in February including first and second February and 15th and 16 February 2025.

However candidates will able to download the GATE Exam Admit Card 2025 from 07th January. So they can take print out of the GATE 2025 admit card and appear in the examination hall accordingly.
