 IIT Kharagpur is organizing the graduate aptitude test in engineering (GATE) 2022. The complete schedule of the exam has been released.

GATE 2022 admit card will be released on January 3, 2022. The GATE 2022 admit cards will be released on the website https://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/. IIT Kharagpur is organizing the graduate aptitude test in engineering (GATE) 2022. The complete schedule of the exam has been released.

The exam will be held from February 5 to 13. On February 4 and February 11, miscellaneous activities like preparation of exam centre including sanitisation and other activities like display posters, signboard, seating arrangements etc. will be done from 2 pm to 5 pm. On February 4 and 11 candidates can also visit the exam centre.

Each day, the exam will be held in two shifts: 9 am to 12 noon and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

This year two new subjects have been introduced- Geomatics Engineering and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, making the subject count to 29.

The National Education Policy does not envisage one year engineering programme in Indian languages, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Monday.

The National Education Policy does not envisage one year engineering programme in Indian languages, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Monday.

Pradhan made the statement in response to a written question in Lok Sabha.

 

"NEP does not envisage one year engineering programme in Indian Languages. However, NEP has made recommendations for use of mother tongue and local language as a medium of instruction and offer programmes bilingually in the higher education system," he said.

"All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has given approval to nineteen engineering colleges to impart engineering courses in six Indian languages for engineering programmes across 10 states from the Academic year 2021-22," he added.

AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls 2021: Application Date for Scholarship of Rs 50,000 Extended, Check Details

AICTE Pragati scheme for girls is open to female students pursuing the first year of their technical degree or diploma

The online application date for AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls has been extended to 15 December 2021 by the All India Council for Technical Education. This means that female students who are in the first year of their technical degree or diploma, or second year of degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year can apply for scholarships worth Rs 50,000 per annum before the said date. The last date for defective verification and institute verification has been extended to 31 December 2021.

 

The scholarship, for which a maximum of two female candidates from a single family with an annual income of less than Rs 8 lakhs can apply, will be provided to 5000 students for a maximum of four years. The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of renewal through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) by submitting a promotion certificate along with the letter from the Head of Institution in the online portal.

Who Can Apply for AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls

The scholarship opportunity is open to a maximum of two female children from a family who also fulfill the following criteria:

  • The girl candidate should be admitted to the first year of diploma level course or second year of diploma level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year.
  • The girl candidate should be admitted to the first year of degree level course or second year of degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year.
  • The family income from all sources should not be more than Rs 8 lakh per annum during the current financial year, and a valid income certificate issued by State or UT Government needs to be enclosed.

This is an industry-backed fee online course and it will prepare participants for a career in building production software. – Summary -Initiative taken to identify the top 40 Indian students for an industry-led training cum internship programme. – Last date to apply for this fellowship is December 26, 2021

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with Pupilfirstorg has launched GDC Software Engineering fellowship to identify the top 40 Indian students for an industry-led training programme. Students who complete the training shall get a semester-long remote internship with CoronaSafe/eGov Foundation to contribute open source code to further develop this global digital public good. The council took to Twitter and announced,”AICTE in collaboration with pupilfirstorg has launched GDC Software Engineering Fellowship to identify brightest software engineering students in India for an industry-led training cum internship program.” 

Undergraduate or postgraduate students in any course at a higher education institute in India and within the age group 18-25 years, can apply for this programme. Basic knowledge of any programming language is required, preferably Python. Prior experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript is also prefered but not mandatory. The last date to apply for this advanced programming training is December 26, 2021. The programme will be conducted between January 7, 2022 to April 08, 2022.

This is an industry-backed free online course and it will prepare participants for a career in building production software. Each of the students’ code submissions will be reviewed in-depth by a coach and students will also gain hard-earned insights about abstraction boundaries, data modelling, layering, and programme design.   This course will try to explain the fundamentals of the web where students will learn Django, React and Typescript along the way. This course is designed to be hands-on with milestone targets at each level. The targets are designed to make students think and implement the concepts they have learned throughout the course.

Course outcome:

  • Learn industry standard practices for programming and product development.
  • Learn the basics concepts of web development.
  • Strengthen Python and Typescript skills.
  • Develop basic knowledge of Databases and how to operate them.
  • Fundamentals of React, Typescript, and the Django Framework.
  • Understanding and building modern applications within the Django Web Framework.
  • Basics of deployment and scaling web applications.

A National Fellowship Certificate will be issued by AICTE for graduates after completion of this programme. Ten scholarships are reserved for women to promote gender balance in this programme. Interested candidates can apply online. In Jan 2021, 50,482 students applied for the GDC Software Engineering Division. Out of them 24 students were selected and completed the training programme. 14 students went on to successfully complete the six month internship and have been awarded the GDC fellowship. Those 14 students worked on remote internships with Coronasafe Network , working on various projects like CARE, ARIKE and LIFE. Students were supported by stipends from AICTE. –
