Do you have a bucketload of movies, TV shows,
photos and music that have gradually accumulated on your computer? Plex can
help. This application consists of two components: a server that is installed
on the computer containing the media files, and a set of clients that comprise
of apps for Android and iOS devices, smart TVs, or a regular Web browser on a
laptop. The Plex server catalogues, manages, and streams media files from its
database to devices in the required format. This capability makes it possible to
stream your media to virtually any device, even if they are from an older
vintage. Another big advantage with Plex is the ability to access its media
library even when you are outdoors and on a different network. There is also a
premium (paid) version of the service called Plex Pass, which offers features
like resuming across devices, access to cloud storage like Google Drive and
Dropbox, user profiles etc. Find out more at www.plex.tv.
