examination of copyright application in different categories of works, viz
literary, artistic, musical, cinematograph film and sound recording works.
The manual reflects the general practices and
procedures for registration of literary works.
It explains the process for examination of literary
work application(s), documentation of ownership; provides guidelines on how to
identify the originality of authorship, copyrightable subject matter and
discusses the grounds on which a discrepancy letter may be issued.
This document does not cover every principle of
copyright law, the practice and procedure set forth in the document do not in
themselves have the force and effect of law.
