Abdul Razzak Kalsekar Polytechnic -Panvel students install Solar EV charger in Malad
Anjuman I Islam's Abdul Razzak Kalsekar Polytechnic Panvel proudly announced that their final year Mechanical Engg.Students
1.Shaikh Ahamad
2.Mahesh Rathod
3.Asad Shaikh
and guide Mr.Shehzad Pathan developed First Solar Powered EV charger in collaboration with MSS Renewtech Pvt.Ltd.( COO & Alumnus of A I.A.R.Kalsekar Polytechnic Panvel) Installed at Smt.K.G.Mittal College,Malad.
In a bid toward sustainable living and adhering to Maharashtra’s EV policy, an EV charger completely run by solar energy was installed by the engineering students of Abdul Razzak Kalsekar Polytechnic, Panvel, with the help of industry experts, at Mittal College, Malad on Sunday. The college has begun running on 100 per cent electricity produced by the solar plates since last month and the new EV charger will also be using the electricity produced by the solar plates and will be able to charge two, three as well as four-wheelers.
The college has also installed automated smart switches and sensors run by solar power for their administrative offices, library and washrooms.
The total installed solar capacity at Mittal College is 80 kWp which makes the institute 100 per cent solar-powered. After achieving this net-zero target i.e becoming 100 per cent carbon neutral, installing EV chargers was the next in terms of goals, especially after announcements of Maharashtra's EV policy.
The team leader of the group of students which participated in the project, Ahmad Shaikh said, “The charger installed in the institute is a mode-2 type 3.7 kW AC charger which is powered by the solar power plant installed on the roof of the institute.”
“We would want more students to participate in such projects which are practical, sustainable and align with the visions and policies of the government. Engineers can play a major role in shaping up the idea of a sustainable and green India,” the student added.
Director of Mittal College, Suhasini Arya, said, “We are very happy. After we switched to 100 per cent solar power we have been receiving a very low electricity bill for the entire college compared to the bill before the solar panels were installed. We have installed sensors in the rooms to save electricity and also have a vertical garden. The management and the students are always in full support to carry out such initiatives and go green.”
Talking about the project by the students, Shahezad Pathan, project guide and lecturer at A R Kalsekar Polytechnic college, said, “By 2030 we must move to renewable energy alternatives as it is an environmental issue. Also, the growing market of EVs and the lack of potential entrepreneurship in EV charging systems have been the basis of the project which the students have taken up. They did the entire research on the availability of EV charging stations in and outside the city and concluded that there are very few of them, especially within the city, because the companies who make these in India are very few.”
“This motivated them to take up the project and get hands-on experience of designing and installing the EV charger at Mittal College with the help of industry experts,” added the project guide.
Muhammad Sohail Shaikh, COO of MSS Renewtech LLP – the company which helped the students with the project – said, “This is a positive step, one of the biggest challenges in adoption of EV is lack of charging infrastructure. Such steps will ensure a robust network of charging infra which will, in turn, encourage people to adopt electric mobility.”
“We completed one charger installation at Mittal College today. There are ongoing installations as well at Maharashtra College at Mumbai Central. The good part is these entities have already installed solar power plants and hence when a user will charge an e-vehicle it will be charged by solar energy,” Shaikh added.

Akums Drugs receives approval for making cholesterol-lowering drug in India
Bempedoic acid is a new class of drug for treating high LDL-cholesterol conditions that’s indicative of cardiovascular diseases.
India’s contract manufacturing pharmaceutical company Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd on Monday announced that it acquired the license to manufacture and commercialise Bempedoic acid-- a cholesterol-lowering drug.
Known as a novel, non-statin lipid-lowering treatment option that’s taken orally, Bempedoic acid is a new class of drug for treating high LDL-cholesterol conditions that’s indicative of cardiovascular diseases. Since Bempedoic acid is known to be low risk for patients with intolerability for statins, an important ingredient in most lipid-lowering drugs, it may prove beneficial to Indian population that has a high incidence of LDL and heart diseases.
“Akums Drugs will soon begin manufacturing this novel, first-in-India, lipid-lowering drug, which could be a boon to the several Indians living with heart conditions. As per statistics, there’re 112 million Indian adults suffer from high levels of LDL-cholesterol, out of this significantly high number of dyslipidaemic patients, who are already on statin-based treatments still continue to suffer from uncontrolled dyslipidaemia—for such patients, Bempedoic acid is a fresh ray of hope,” Founder, Promoter and Director, Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals, Shri Sandeep Jain said.
"Our research and development teams are working on various combinations of Bempedoic plus other molecules and soon these innovative products will also be introduced in India,” he added.
India carries an alarming heart disease debt, accounting for over 272 patients out of every lakh of people and with every fourth death in India caused by heart alignment. This condition haunts people at the prime of their life with drastic effects on the quality of their life and that of their families. Of these, some patients may also be intolerant to statins while others may already be prescribed the maximum dose they can tolerate in the course of their treatment. For such patients, Bempedoic acid will be a great alternative for doctors.
“This therapy is an important addition to the management of dyslipidaemia through effective disease management. Bempedoic acid has shown positive results in supporting therapy in patients unable to tolerate or unresponsive to statins, which accounts for about 5.4 million Indian patients,” said Jain.
“This puts the drug in a class of its own, with the ability to do something that was till now unthinkable. At Akums Drugs, we are glad to be a part of such path-breaking initiatives and hope that together with our customers in pharmaceuticals, we will capture significant market share and be the pioneers in introducing the complete range of Bempedoic acid,” he said.

What are Research Communities?
Online research communities are trending as one of the most popular ways for market researchers to capture qualitative customer data.
In fact, 60% of respondents in the latest Greenbook Research Industry Trends report say they are using online communities. 82% show interest in research communities and 22% consider using them.
It’s no surprise that market researchers and companies are adopting research communities considering the robust benefits, including the following:
- Real-time access to qualitative customer data.
- The ongoing collaboration of community members for a deep look into customer opinions.
- Quick and easy insights from engagement on social media platforms.
- A cost-effective way to bring customer insights into one platform.
If you’re interested in learning more about what research communities are so you can get started, keep reading.
What is an online research community?
An online research community is a market research technique that uses the internet to capture real-time, long-term and in-depth qualitative customer insights.
Rather than bringing a group of people into a physical location and conducting a focus group, a research community brings the discussion online to be managed via one single platform. With the use of this online platform, participants can offer opinions and feedback regarding a product, service, idea, etc., and the market researcher can observe comments and interactions over time.
How a researcher sets up an online community is primarily up to the preference of the company or firm that is interested in the data. A researcher can set up an invitation-only, private online community. A private community is advantageous if you’re looking for feedback from a specific customer segment.
If you’re looking for more general feedback, or to find general trends, then you can opt to open a public research community for your whole audience. Researchers can observe how people interact with each other, what they discuss, and what questions and concerns people bring up most often.
Regardless of whether you set up a private community or a public one, you’ll be able to observe your customers’ comments in a natural online setting.
Research community best practices
The best research communities are ones with high engagement levels. Here are some best practices to help you get the most out of your research community.
1. Make it convenient and easy to get involved
If it’s not easy for people to join your community, they won’t. Similarly, if you want participants to provide feedback, you have to make it convenient. The best way to get high engagement rates is to make it easy for people to log in and allow them to access the community from any device.
2. Get as many people involved as possible
When you conduct a focus group, you only get feedback from a few participants. The luxury of an online community is you can engage 100+ people at a time. When you have insights from more people, your data will be better.
3. Encourage members to do the talking
To capture real data and opinions, it’s essential that your participants feel comfortable expressing themselves often and honestly. A good rule of thumb is to set some rules and guidelines from the get-go, encourage them to talk openly and freely, and only prompt and probe when it’s necessary.
4. Don’t be afraid to get personal
You indeed want participants to do most of the talking. However, there will be times when you need to step in and ask questions. If you feel like your audience is timid to share and you’re not getting responses, try sparking discussion by sharing one of your own experiences. If participants see you being open, it may make them feel more comfortable sharing too.
5. Stay active as a community manager
A good community manager will engage with the platform frequently. This could mean asking questions, reviewing comments, moderating, and analyzing. As you continually engage with the platform, you’ll start to see patterns and identify themes that will help you make better business decisions.
How to pick a top customer insight panel & online community research tool
There are several tools on the market to help you build customer insight panels and online communities, but not all are created equally. The best way to ensure your community will be successful is to pick the right tool. Here is what to look for in a software.
1. Easy for customers to use and self-service
If you want community members to engage often and freely, you need a platform that makes it easy to do so. This means the community should be accessible 24/7 via any digital platform.
2. Possible to segment community participants
Customer loyalty, satisfaction, and brand advocacy vary significantly across the board. Some customers are high-value, while other customers may only purchase from your brand one time and then seek out the competition. It’s essential to be able to segment your customers based on their value so that you can select the right participants for your community.
3. Mobile capable
Five billion people own smartphones, and 96% of Americans use a smartphone for various tasks, including participating in communities. Do yourself a favor and make your community available on mobile devices.
4. Quick access for internal teams
The most efficient platforms make it easy for internal teams and your research staff to access the platform too. Your team should be able to access the platform on-demand and from any location just as quickly as your participants can.
Wrap Up
There is a reason why online research communities are so popular with marketing and market research teams. They provide a way for organizations to access high-quality qualitative data from multiple people in their target audience.
As you follow the best practices listed above and choose the right online community and survey software, you’ll glean insights that will help you grow your business.

AICTE Launches Student Learning Assessment Portal for Engineering, MCA, MBA Colleges
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked all engineering, MBA and MCA institutes to register on the PARAKH portal at parakh.aicte-india.org mandatorily. It is a student learning assessment initiative with the goal of bridging the gap between academics and technical, professional, and industry needs. It will give a platform for students to self-assess their learning outcomes and 21st century life skills, the council said.
The notice released by AICTE explains that this is an assessment portal and not an examination. The students can register on the portal developed by AICTE for gauging their academic, social, cognitive, critical, and behavioural development during their course of study. The faculty and institutes have been asked to participate.
“This has now been made mandatory for every Institute (Engineering, MBA & MCA Institutions) to implement PARAKH in their respective institute as per the Norms for Essential Requirements of the Technical Institutions mentioned in Approval Process Handbook 2022-23 (Appendix-6,6.1/42),” reads the notice.
This year, on January 7, Secretary Higher Education, MoE-Government of India, launched the PARAKH unified Portal for all AICTE recognised institutes.
Along with releasing the official notice, AICTE shared a tweet about the same.
It is required that Institutes and faculty members engage in this student learning assessment- (PARAKH) and encourage students to take the assessment for a brighter future and optimal utilisation of this assessment portal.
Different
assessments have been assigned to students from the engineering, MBA,
and MCA departments within the time frame specified. Furthermore, the
institutions have been instructed to ensure that the assessments are
completed within the time frame specified. ~ Courtesy
No JEE Main needed? AICTE scheme allows ‘gifted students’ admission without exams
JEE Main: AICTE sets criteria for gifted students to get admission in top engineering, technical colleges without exams.
NEW DELHI: Technical education regulator, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released eligibility criteria for supernumerary seats dedicated to “gifted students” on Thursday. These students will be admitted to approved institutions without appearing in entrance exams such as the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) and the institutions allowed to admit them through this route will be selected on the basis of their accreditation scores or places in rankings.
As per the norms, students from unreserved categories with 45 percent marks and those from reserved categories with 40 percent marks in the Class 12 science stream are eligible.
A “gifted student” as per the AICTE document will be nominated, referred, or encouraged to apply for the supernumerary seat in AICTE-affiliated colleges. The student must have at least three letters of recommendation “clearly stating that he or she is a gifted child”, the official notice said.
Shortlisted candidates will also need to appear for a personal interview with a panel of experts appointed by the institutions to ascertain their truly gifted nature and eligibility for admission under this scheme.
In March, AICTE had announced that the two supernumerary seats were intended to empower gifted and talented students and enhance the innate potentials to the fullest of such students who underperformed or didn’t appear in the entrance test. The document doesn’t specify which test but for engineering, the major ones include the JEE Main and state-level ones such as the TS EAMCET, KCET, MHT CET, AP EAMCET, GUJCET, WBJEE and more. Interestingly, the AICTE’s document and the scheme itself appear to acknowledge the failure of large-scale tests to gauge “giftedness” even as the entire central university system shifts to such a test, CUET 2022, for admission. The University Grants Commission has also directed higher education institutions to create supernumerary seats.
AICTE: Who is gifted?
The AICTE’s document has stipulated details on who can be considered a “gifted child”. The scheme particularly targets students who remain unidentified as “high achievers” for the lack of participation and poor scores in schools.
The AICTE document emphasizes considering students from all backgrounds who possess “advanced cognitive abilities” yet have less developed social skills putting them at a disadvantage.
It also talks about “indigenous talents” in rural areas that remain mostly unidentified. The scheme is meant to help students who display “intense curiosity, fertile imagination, and a questioning attitude”, but miss out due to a lack of creative outlet in a society that prioritises exam scores over talent. The document also distinguishes between a “bright child” and a “gifted child”, setting out the differences in the table below.
Engineering Courses Now Available in 12 Indian Languages: AICTE
PUNEKAR News |
New Delhi, 14th May 2022: The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to make engineering courses available in 12 Indian languages. For this, engineering teachers and postgraduate students will be enlisted for the translation of the curriculum which is currently available in English.
The new National Education Policy emphasizes education in the mother tongue. Therefore, AICTE had also given the option of mother tongue for undergraduate level engineering courses last year. Accordingly, some colleges across the country have started engineering courses in their mother tongue.
AICTE was entrusted with the task of translating 21 online courses out of 80 courses. Of these, AICTE has completed three first-year engineering courses, while the other three self-contained online courses have been translated into eight Indian languages. In this context, AICTE has stated that it will enlist the help of postgraduate students and teachers to complete the work of other courses.
AICTE has fixed the honorarium for postgraduate students and teachers. Students and teachers can choose the language of their choice. It has been clarified that the translators will also be given a certificate on completion of the translation work.
AICTE and IIT Madras have been directed to make 80 engineering
courses available in 12 Indian languages. Courses will be translated
into Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Hindi,
