DRDO Recruitment Notification 2022 Likely Soon: Check Posts, Qualifications, and How to Apply

 DRDO Recruitment 2022: 

The Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC), (DRDO) has issued an Indicative Recruitment Advertisement in reference to the GATE-2023 Qualified Post Scientists ‘B’. The Recruitment and Assessment Centre shall soon issue a Detailed Advertisement to invite the Applications from the GATE (The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2023 Qualified Candidates duly meeting the Eligibility Criteria Scientist ‘B’ in the Defence Research & Development Organisation (

) Department of Science & Technology (DST), Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC).

Recruitment to the Post Scientist ‘B’ in the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) that the Organisation may notify the Vacancies for Scientist ‘B’ Posts for the Year 2023 depending upon the Requirement in the Next Few Months.

Selection Methodology: Recruitment and Assessment Centre will conduct Selection to the Posts of Scientist ‘B’ / Engineer Posts based on the Valid GATE Score for Direct Recruitment of Scientist ‘B’ in DRDO. Only those Candidates, who will possess the valid GATE 2023 Score on the Crucial Date of Eligibility, will be considered for shortlisting for the Written Test/Interview.

The Direct Recruitment (DR) to the Post Scientist ‘B’ will be conducted based on a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Score and/ or Written test/Interview for the Vacancies in the Disciplines for which GATE is conducted, including those under Life Sciences and under Humanities/Social Sciences.

Selection Process: Selection under Category I shall be based on the 01) GATE Score; 02) Written Test and 03) Personal Interview. Selection under Category II shall be based on the 01) GATE Score and 02) Personal Interview for Appointment in the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Scientist/Engineer ‘B’ in Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), and Executive Engineer in Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC).

Written Examination Scheme for Part I:

The Recruitment and Assessment Centre shall conduct a Common Computer-Based Written Test consisting of 02 Papers to be conducted in 02 Sessions (Fore-Noon Session: FNS and After-Noon Session: ANS) for Total 600 (Paper I for 300 Marks + Paper II for 300 Marks) shall span 03 Hours each.

Academic Qualification:

For Subjects/Disciplines in each Part (Part-I and Part-II) are as follows:

Category I: The Candidates should have in possession the Requisite Essential Qualification (EQ) along with the valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Qualification. Or

Category II: The Candidates should have in possession of the Requisite Essential Qualification (EQ) (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree with First Position/First Class in respective Branches) from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)/National Institutes of Technology (NITs) with Minimum Aggregate 80% Marks. The Candidates should have in possession the Requisite Essential Qualification (EQ) along with a valid the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Qualification.

Age Limits (Category-wise):

A) Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO): Un-Reserved (UR)/Economically Weaker Sections: 28 Years

B) Department of Science & Technology (DST): Un-Reserved (UR)/Economically Weaker Sections: 35 Years

C) Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA): Un-Reserved (UR)/Economically Weaker Sections: 30 Years

D) Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC): Un-Reserved (UR)/Economically Weaker Sections: 28 Years

Other than General Merit Category and the Economically Weaker Sections, Relaxation in Upper Age Limit for Reserved Communities.

Detailed Selection Methodology:

i) The Recruitment and Assessment Centre shall call the Shortlisted Candidates on the basis of the GATE Scores and/or Written Examination to appear in the Personal Interview to be held in New Delhi or any other place (as decided by Research & Assessment Center (RAC)/ Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO).

ii) The Offer of Appointment to the Selected Candidates would be restricted to the number of vacancies in order of Merit. The Appointment, however, will be subject to the Candidate’s satisfying conditions like qualifying the Medical Examination (ME) prescribed for Group ‘A’ Technical Posts of the Government of India with Field Service Liability and Verification of Character Antecedents besides verification of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD(HH)/ PwBD(LD)/PwBD(AAV)/ PwBD(Dw) Certificate, etc., wherever applicable.

iii) Final Result (customized for Individual Candidate) shall be published/displayed at the Recruitment and Assessment Centre’s Website in due course of time.

Detailed Selection Criteria:

1) For Subjects/Disciplines under Part-I :

Final Selection of the Candidates shall be Purely Based On Discipline-wise Category-wise Merit of Gross 100%; i.e., Aggregate of 80% Weightage of the Marks in the Written Examination and 20% Weightage of the Marks in the Personal Interview.

2) For the Subjects/Disciplines under Part-II:

Final Selection of the Candidates shall be Purely Based On Discipline-wise Category-wise Merit of Gross 100%; i.e., Aggregate of 80% Weightage of the Marks in the GATE Score and 20% Weightage of the marks in the Personal Interview.

3) Final Selection of the Candidates under PwBD(HH), PwD(LD), PwBD(AAV/Dw) Category against the Vacancies reserved for them in the Applicable Disciplines shall be Purely Based on the Combined Merit of Aggregate of 80% Weightage of the GATE Score and 20% Weightage of the Marks in the Personal Interview.

4) Only those Candidates securing the Category-wise / Community- specific Minimum Qualifying Marks of 70% (for Un-Reserved) and 60% (for Reserved EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwBD Community) in the Personal Interview will be considered for Preparing the Final Merit List. The Candidates who fail to qualify the Interview will not be considered for Final Selection irrespective of their Written Examination Scores (for Part-I Disciplines)/GATE Score (for Part-II Disciplines).

v) The Selection against the UR vacancies will be done first based on the Combined Merit List of all the Candidates. Filling up of the Backlog Vacancies in OBC/SC/ST category shall be taken up after exhausting the UR Vacancies.

vi) In the Merit List for Final Selection, the Candidates will be considered for Selection against the Vacancies in the Organizations (DRDO/DST/ADA) they opted for, in order of their individual Preference. They will be accommodated against the vacancies of that Organization where their Selection is Definite and will not be kept in any Wait-List of their Higher Preferences.
