The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur —
organising institute — on Thursday commenced the online registration process of
the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 on its official website.
Interested candidates can now apply for GATE 2021 through the official portal
of IIT Kharagpur GATE — gate.iitkgp.ac.in.
The last date to submit online applications is September 24, 2021. However, candidates can submit the applications till October 1 with a late fee. The defective applications will be displayed on October 26 and candidates would be given time till November 1 for the rectification of applications.
The last date to make changes in application — change of paper, category, and exam city — is November 12. However, candidates would need to pay an additional fee to make these changes.
GATE 2022 will be conducted for 29 subjects and it would be distributed over Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th, Saturday 12th, and Sunday 13th of February 2022. The GATE examination is conducted in different cities across India. The examination would be purely a Computer Based Test (CBT).
The GATE score would reflect the relative performance level of the candidate in a particular subject, which is quantified based on several years of examination data. Note that the GATE 2022 score is valid for THREE YEARS from the date of announcement of the results. No information on the GATE 2022 score will be available after this period.
Eligibility criteria:
A candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program OR has already completed any government-approved degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts is eligible to appear for the GATE 2022 examination.
There is no age limit to appear for the GATE 2022 examination.
