In the digital era where reading is a rare habit, three women
from Thane have collaborated to launch a new website named e-panini which would
make literature more accessible to the masses. The website, which aims to
collate the works of well-known authors along with that of the upcoming ones,
would present it in both textual and audio-visual formats. The three women are
Sangita Chavan, the editor of Panini Prakashan, her daughter, Ashwini
Kondhalkar and Chavan’s friend, Vrushali Shinde.
The trio launched their
non-profit independent website (https://www.epanini.in/mr/) on February 4.
Shinde said, “We want to
make good stories, poems and articles available not only to readers but even to
the visually impaired and the senior citizens who love to read but cannot due
to physical limitations.”
Currently, the literature
is available only in Marathi but the three plan to expand the website to
include other languages.
The website will also
mentor aspiring writers.
