Association of Muslim professionals organise job fair in Mumbai

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) in association with World Memon Organisation (WMO) and Mudassir Patel Foundation organized a Mega Job Fair in Mumbai on Sat, 8th Dec, 2018, which was a huge success. For this Job Fair, District Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship (DSDE&E), Mumbai, which is part of Government of Maharashtra and Teamlease, a Recruitment Consultancy were the Co-organisers of the Job Fair.
The Job Fair was conducted at Alma Latifi Hall, Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Byculla, Mumbai to help unemployed youths to get placed in reputed mainstream Corporates and to provide opportunities to the needy without any discrimination of caste and creed. Through this unique event, the organizers endeavoured to give back to the Nation what they have received by helping the youth get Jobs.
80 Corporates from across various industries had participated in this Job Fair with a massive turnout of more than 2800 candidates. At the end of the day around 410 candidates were given on-the-spot offers by the recruiters while 850 were shortlisted for the next round of selection.
Shaikh Aboobackar Ahmad, General Secretary of the All India Muslim Scholars Association and Founder and Chancellor of Jamia Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya (Sunni Cultural Centre), Kozhikode, Kerala who inaugurated the Job Fair said “It is great to see such an effort being put for helping needy students with Jobs, which is the final aim of educating them which we do through our Institutions”. He also appreciated the entire team of AMP, WMO and the other supporters for organising such a successful job fair.
Mr. Haroon Karim, Chairman, Board of Trustees, WMO-UK, was delighted with the arrangements for the youth of the City and said “I congratulate our India team for doing such wonderful work for helping the youths of the Nation and wish them well in continuing such great work”.
Dr. Zahir Kazi, President, Anjuman I Islam, appreciated the good work being done by AMP and partner Organisations for creating such opportunities for the youngsters of the Community and the Nation. He mentioned that “We have also created many Institutes which are featuring in the Nation’s list of foremost Institutions. We are however, proud of the fact that Mr. Aamir Edresy who is a product of our Institute is doing a yeoman service to the Nation by helping the youth with gainful employment”.
Mr. Ahsan Gadawala, President, WMO-India said “We will be conducting more such Job Fairs in the coming days in association with AMP to serve our unemployed youth across the country.”
Mr. Aamir Edresy, President, AMP who was personally present said, “AMP has repeatedly worked for the Indian Youth since the last 7 years by organising many Job Fairs. We are partnering & collaborating with like-minded organisations like WMO and various Government agencies like District Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship (DSDE&E) across the Country, to give the right opportunity for our youth so they can transform their lives for the better and significantly contribute to India’s growth story. We seek to be the bridge between the Corporates, Government agencies and the Unemployed/Underemployed youth. We firmly believe in the ideology of Economic Empowerment through creation of job opportunities.
Mr. Mudassir Patel of Mudassir Patel Foundation, spoke of the meticulous hard work and planning that went in organising the Job Fair. Right from the painstaking work of contacting the Corporates, to ensuring that enough Candidates turn up for the Job Fair and executing it successfully was one large team effort and we would like to thank AMP and Co-organisers for putting in their valuable time and effort for the sake of our Country’s youth.
Mr. Razak Shaikh, Head-AMP Projects mentioned that AMP has so far organized 25 Mega Job Fairs and hundreds of Job Drives in the last 7 years and helped placing more than 15,000 candidates being during these initiatives across more than 80 AMP Chapters all over the Country.

The event was a result of dedication and hard work of AMP Team Members under the guidance of Mr. Soheb Selia, General Secretary-AMP, Mr. Javed Sayed, Finance Secretary-AMP and Mr. Iftekhar Shaikh, Head-AMP Employment Cell, under which the Job Fair Project is run. The WMO team members and DSDE&E team also supported the AMP Team and the Police personnel managed the crowd ably.
