35 Indian government apps and numbers that you must know



The "Digital India" initiative was launched by the Indian government a couple of years ago to enable citizens through various forms of technology. Different government services are available at fingertips through SMS, apps, or the good old system of placing a phone call. At least information about them can be easily accessed. Here is the list of 35 government apps and numbers that every Indian must know:

1.cVigil: For "free and fair elections"
cVigil is an app by the Election commission of India that helps in creating a fasttrack complaint reception and redressal system regarding elections.
2.Bharat ke Veer: For contributing to families of Central Armed Police Forces' soldiers This mobile app helps the citizens to pay homage and contribute financially to the bereaved families of Central Armed Police Forces' soldiers who laid down their lives on the border.
3. MADAD: For Indian citizens abroad This app was created by the Ministry of External Affairs for the abroad Indian
citizens who are in distress. Please remember grievances/queries related to visa and passport, emergency travel documents etc. won't be answered here.
4. UTS: For booking unreserved tickets This app helps for booking unreserved tickets on Indian Railways.
5. Passport: For passport related information All information related to passport will be available on this app. Users can track passport application status and locate the nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)
6. National Scholarships Portal: For students looking for scholarship This is a one-stop solution for various scholarship schemes offered by various central Ministries and State Departments.
7. 1091 — Women helpline This app helps women who are suffering from domestic violence can ask for help by calling on this number.
8. 18001201740 — BHIM/UPI related complaints You can reach out this number if you have queries and complaints about the BHIM app, this helpline number is available 24/7.
 9. Aaykar Setu: For income tax and PAN card On this Income Tax department's app, you can apply for PAN, and pay taxes too.
10. 108 — National Disaster Helpline This helpline number is to be used in case of a national disaster like floods or earthquakes.
11. 1909: For stopping spam messages This is a number where you can send a message to activate TRAI's DND service to stop spam messages.
12. ePathshala: For students and teachers This app is handy for teachers and students who can access e-books on mobile devices and desktops.
13. mKavach (Mobile security solutions) This government app offers mobile security solutions like malware and one can even block spam messages and calls.
 14. Kisan Suvidha: For agriculture This is a farmer-friendly app, farmers can gain information about market prices, weather update and other required details.
15. 1947: Aadhaar toll-free number All Aadhaar related information can be obtained on this number.
16. 1800114949 — Cyber security threats If you face any cyber security threats, then you can dial the above number and report.
 17. UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) The app version of the single-ticket window and brings together various government departments and their services on one platform.
8. 57575: For PAN card application related information This app helps to track PAN card application status by sending a message on this number
19. Voter Helpline: Election Commission of India This is an app that acts as a single point service for voters. Citizens can submit forms for new voter ID cards, search names in electoral rolls including other things.
20. Incredible India: For tourism All tourism related information can be gathered from this app.
21. MySpeed (TRAI): For data speed Users can track their data speed, coverage area and other network related information through this app. X X
22. 1098 – Child Helpline If there's any case of a child being in distress, citizens can report an issue on this number.
23. BHIM: For financial transactions This is a popular app for carrying out financial transactions digitally. This Unified Payment Interface-based app helps in sending/receiving money among other things.
24. Indian Police on Call An app to locate the nearest police station. It has numbers of district control rooms and other important details related to local police.
25. Startup India This app is to help the entrepreneurs to understand government initiatives about the startups.
26. DigiSevak: For citizen volunteers DigiSevak app is for citizen volunteers who can contribute to various government departments, based on their skills and interest.

30. DigiLocker: For the safety of digital copies On this app citizens can save digital copies of documents like driving license, PAN card etc. X X
31. mParivahan: For driving license and vehicle-related information By using this app one can create copies of driving license, vehicle registration certificate and many other things.
