ISRO Apprentice Engagement Notification Out for 220 Vacancies, Walk In Interviews From 14 Dec 2019 to 4 Jan 2020

SSLC pass with ITI can apply to be trade apprentice, diploma in engineering holders can become technician apprentices, and engineering graduates can join as graduate apprentice.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has made tremendous advancements in space science and technology since its inception. The organisation opens up recruitment and engagement opportunities in its various branches and departments from time to time. The latest notification by ISRO has come from the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) which is in  Mahendragiri, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu.

IPRC is the lead centre for liquid propulsion for ISRO’s launch vehicle and spacecraft programs. 

ISRO, IPRC has decided to engage graduate apprentice, technician apprentice, and trade apprentice of various trades and disciplines. The number of training positions are 41 for graduate apprentice, 59 for technician apprentice, 120 for trade apprentice. 

A graduate apprentice will be the one who has either a first class engineering and technology degree in respective discipline, for mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, instrumentation engineering, chemical engineering, computer science engineering, civil engineering; or bachelors in arts or science or commerce, with a degree in library science or library and information science for the library science discipline. 

Diploma in engineering and technology in respective disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, holders are eligible to become technician apprentices.

SSLC or class 10th pass candidates with ITI in relevant trade can become trade apprentices in trades of fitter, welder, electrician, turner, machinist, draughtsman mechanical, draughtsman civil, electronic mechanic or mechanic radio and television, instrument mechanic, refrigeration and AC mechanic, mechanical diesel, carpenter, instrument mechanic chemical plant, PASAA or COPA. 

The stipend per month for apprentices in ISRO will be Rs 9,000 for graduate apprentices, Rs 8,000 for technician apprentices, and ranging between Rs 7,700 to Rs 8,050 for trade apprentices. 

Age of applicants should be at max 35 years as on the cut off date for all apprentice applicants. The cut off dates to calculate age for graduate apprentices will be December 14, 2019, then December 21, 2019 for technician apprentices, and January 4, 2020 for trade apprentices. 

To apply, candidates need to go to iprc.gov.in/iprc/index.php/en/Apprentice and download the application form. Applications will be received offline through walk in interview. 

The walk in interviews are scheduled on December 14, 2019, from 9 am for graduate apprentices who wish to join in disciplines mechanical, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication. On the same day, walk in interviews will be held 1:30 pm onwards for graduate apprentices of instrumentation, chemical, computer science, civil, library science.

Then technician apprentice walk ins will be on December 21, 2019 from 9 am for mechanical, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication. And on the same day from 1:30 pm for chemical, civil.

January 4, 2020 is the date for trade apprentice walk ins. From 9 am, there will be walk ins for fitter, PASAA or COPA, electrician, welder, turner, electronic mechanic or mech RTV. Then from 1:30 pm there will be walk ins for machinist, draughtsman mechanic, draughtsman civil, instrument mechanic, ref AC mechanic, mechanic diesel, carpenter, instrument mechanic. 

ISRO apprentice engagement 2019-2020 notification also says “The applicants have to bring the duly-filled Application Form alongwith ORIGINALS and copies of the Certificates in-person to ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu on the stipulated date & time for submitting the application.”
