As
a part of the Government of India initiative to set up the Atal Innovation
Mission, the Anjuman I Islam School’s Saif Tyabji Girls’ High School and Junior
College has been selected by NITI Ayog for starting the innovative lab in their
school. This has been the very first Urdu Girls’ School to have been selected
for this project and they have taken the lead to adopt this mission and
establish the lab and made it operational as of now.
The
lab was inaugurated on September 4 last year by Dr AP Jayaraman, nuclear
scientist, who had the privilege of working closely with the former President
Dr APJ Kalam. He interacted with the kids and shared his views on robotics and
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Earlier
this month, the NITI Ayog selected the school as a venue school across India
for an exclusive three day programme which comprised of a workshop and gender
parity dialogue. The event was organised by the Swedish Institute, FICCI
Ladies’ organization, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in collaboration
with ATAL Innovation Mission, NITI Ayog.
On
December 4, Royal Majesties from Sweden, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia
interacted with the students while they were working on various electronic
projects and were very glad to see the students work on the projects so well.
