The four-day
annual Build Expo 2017-18 brought up by the Salem Civil Engineers Association
began at the Deiveegam Marriage hall .
This is the 19th
consecutive building materials and technique show is organised by the
association, comprising more than 200 civil engineers.
Objective
The objective of
the event is to create awareness about latest technological developments, new
inventions and products, updated knowledge and innovative products and
techniques in the construction industry. The exhibition also guided the budding
civil engineers, trading community and the people involved in the construction
industry in identifying and selecting the right materials for the effective
construction of the buildings.
Chandrasekaran,
Additional Superintendent of Police, declared the exhibition open in the
presence of T. Kadiravan, president of the Salem Civil Engineers Association,
K. Mayilraju, chairman of the organising committee of the Build Expo. Mr.
Chandrasekaran also released a directory.
Concerns involved
in the manufacture of construction materials and the trading houses from across
the country have displayed their products in as many as 180 stalls. Under the
auspices of the Association Trust, a free medical camp, blood donation camp and
dengue eradication camp has been organised at the venue for the benefit of the
visitors.
