Jamshedpur: Innovation was the buzzword at the two-day Tech Fest
organised by Tata Steel Technical Institute in Burmamines, which concluded on
Saturday.
Over 130
students from 25 city schools and colleges demonstrated innovative scientific
models.
Students from
NTTF RD Tata Technical Institute created a winnowing machine, which requires a
person to paddle a cycle to operate a fan, which in turn winnows food grains.
"Farmers
winnows using fans that consume electricity. So we came up with this new model
that is user-friendly and saves electricity," said Ratan Agarwal, a
student of NTTF.
Students were
equally thrilled to transform their ideas into scientific models.
"We have
been organising the festival from last year. We also learn a lot from other
participants," said Akash Manjhi, a student of Tata Steel Technical
Institute.
